How does eating fruit and yogurt contribute to tooth decay?
Does eating yogurt before fruit contribute more to tooth decay than eating fruit before yogurt?

If u get a root canal but don’t get the crown put on, will the tooth decay and make your breath stink? And not necessarily just the tooth but the sealant that they use to cover the tooth…

I understand that artifical sweeteners are at least 200 times sweeter than sugar, so much less has to be used, so does this mean that less tooth decay occurs when drinking an aspartame (or anything else like it)-sweetened drink rather than a sugar-sweetend one?
Thanks!
What are the ways in which tooth decay can be stopped, if tooth has already started decaying? Is brushing after every meal is good enough to stop further decay? Any other suggestion?
I’ve got a brown patch of tooth decay on the ouside of my canine tooth. I was wondering if there is any way to get rid of it.
It’s a little patch on one tooth and I can’t actually see it. No matter how much I turn my head in the mirror, I can’t quite see it so I’m relying on my mum to tell me it’s there. That’s how come it got like that – I can’t see that bit of my tooth so I probably haven’t been brushing there enough.

I have tiny white spots on my teeth on the very top of the top ones, and very bottom of the bottom ones… the dentist has given me a tooth paste to use, as she has claimed this is tooth decay beginning but has said if I care for them well for the next six months, and use this toothpaste it is reversible. Does this mean the spots will return back to tooth color? Is that what happens when you remineralise the tooth?
I have had braces for about 2 years now and I will probably be getting them off within the next half year or so. I’m 15 and I admit that probably about 70% of the days I’ve had them I havn’t brushed more than once a day, which was in the mornings. Now however I am brushing in the morning, when I get home from school, and when I go to bed. I was curious about what the chances are that I might have some tooth decay under my braces? My mother works at a school and one of the students there got his braces off the other day and he had tooth decay because he only brushed once a day, this is what really made me face reality that i could have tooth decay and not know it. Also, if I keep brushing right is there a way to fix whatever damage might have been done by simply brushing?
I went to the dentist for a checkup recently and he noticed white marks on some of my teeth. He told me that it was an early sign of tooth decay. He told me to brush alot and that i might need fillings. I dont drink fizzy drinks or water, just milk and fruit juice. I really dont want fillings in my front teeth, as my teeth are always complimented and i think it would ruin them!
is there any way i can stop the teeth, or at least some of them from decaying further? please help!
What exactly is the correlation between tooth decay and heart disease??? Does is include the young as well, or is it an indicator/symptom of just older people???
HELP!
I have a mild mitral valve prolapse with no regurgitation, What will be the effect on my heart if im having tooth decay?
my daughter is 3 years old.her tooth decay statted many weeks ago. now her one front tooth is copletely decayed. and now the second one is hurting. should any pain killer or antibiotic should be given for the infection as she is also having fever.
I have done a lot of research and found that many articles have been written on the link between Albuterol usuage and rapid tooth decay especially in infants and young children (this caused by the side effect of dry mouth) Has anyone read similar studies/articles or had a suspicion about this and /or actuall experience like this?
Yes, I admit I gave my son a bottle (only one at bedtime) up till just about a month ago. He is now 1 1/2 and he has a very tiny spot on his front tooth, which I’m assuming is the onset of the tooth decay. We have a visit to the dentist this week, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas in the meantime as to how to prevent it from getting worse? He is no longer on the bottle at all and I have even limited the amount of juice he gets. He almost always drinks from regular cup (hardly any sippies) and we are healthy eaters, so a lot of sugar isn’t really an issue although I’m cutting it down to almost none now. I brush his teeth after breakfast in the morning and right before bed every night. Any other suggestions?
okay i’ve only had my braces for about a little over 4 months but most days i’ll only brush once a day, in the morning.. i’m afraid of getting tooth decay how do i prevent this from happening and if it’s already formed, is there any way i can get rid of it? and when i get my braces off in a year or two, will the dentist be able to take care of it so my teeth will be whiter?
I have been suffering from depersonalization disorder and have been unable to recover. My dad asked today if I had any dental problems. I have a wisdom tooth that came in sideways and has basically become a giant cavity because I cannot get the tooth brush to reach. I haven’t had it removed due to finances and he suggested that maybe this was attributing to my depersonalization symptoms. I know that tooth decay can cause physical health problems but wasn’t sure if it could cause neurological side effects. Anyone know the answer to this?
My grandson who is 8 years old has to have surgery to save his teeth and that is the formula he was on when he was a baby. I heard that perhaps there is a link to tooth decay and this formula. I tried looking it up on the internet without success. Any information on this would be helpful. Thanks
I am 22 yrs. old and have never had a cavity. I hadn’t been to the dentist in 2 yrs after my child was born because it seemed like I never had the time. I just went last month and they said I barely had any tartar on my teeth and no tooth decay. Sometimes I fall asleep and don’t brush my teeth (happens rarely) and drink sugar soda (which I know is horrible on your teeth). I barely floss and use mouth wash as much as possible. My teeth are almost white, not perfect. Just curious!
I read on a newswire that a 12-year old boy died as a result of an abcess in one of his teeth. Apperently the abcess travelled all the way to his brain. How can this be possible? I also read that some Egyptian pharoahs experienced this and this type of tooth decay lead to their demise. Luckily, I read too that this type of phenomenon is rare. If someone has any insight as to how this is possible, please let me know. I have children I take regularly to the dentist for checkups, but if one of them were to complain of a toothache I’d cringe at the thought of what may happen. I’d take them immediately to the dentist to take care of the problem. I guess this too can serve as something someone too can learn from this post. I’d appreciate any answers. Thanks.

-gum infections and lung disease.
Ive had unhealthy teeth my whole life, and I have some tooth decay in a few of my bottom teeth, I know that there’s no way to actually get the enamel back, but what would be the best products to use? Ive been using the crest enamel shield and mouthwash, but is there something better that I can use? And how long should it take before I see a change? Also, Is it possible to brush your teeth too much?
I read that when you make yourself throw up (I’m bulimic), and brush your teeth immediately afterwards, the stomach acids will cause your teeth to decay. Is this true? Or does brushing immediately afterwards fight tooth decay?
I just returned from the dentist and found out I have severe tooth decay. I am young, brush twice daily (I don’t floss but I certainly will be now!), and I honestly stay away from sweets pretty well so I don’t really understand how it got so bad. He told me this was something that has happened over the last 10 years or so, but my original dentist and orthodontist never said anything. What happened?
BESIDES brushing and flossing, and seeing the dentist regularly, what else can you do to prevent gum disease and tooth loss? Are there any special mouthwashes, supplements, etc? Tooth decay problems run in my family.
Thanks!
