How to help pain of wisdom teeth extraction?

I got four wisdom teeth out Thursday morning. I was fine and didn’t swell up most of that day. Yesterday my right side kept getting bigger and bigger. It’s too the point where I can’t close my mouth, I can’t open my mouth, I can’t sleep. It’s so painful. I’ve been icing constantly and have just switched over to "moist warm heat"

HELP!
Oh, and I’m allergic to my pain meds. So i’ve only been taking Tylenol.

Why do we have bad breath in the morning?

Does it have to do with sleeping, or with plus minus eight hours of not eating or drinking, or eating nasty smelling food while sleep walking? Or does bad breath and how bad it smells vary from person to person? And why does brushing your teeth (or mouth) even help?

hi, i actually just got my wisdom teeth out today! it wasnt as bad as i thought too. b/f going into it, the thing i worried about most was anesthesia as i have never been put to sleep before/dont know what it’s like, but it happened so quick, so i’m fine. when i got home my cheeks were puffy and it was hard to eat even soft foods. my tongue felt like it was huge and heavy. then i put on ice packs for a few hours and the puffy cheeks went away. my mouth right now feels funny, but not extremely painful. and it is a little bit easier, but not easy, to eat. so i have a question for you that have had wisdom teeth extractions and remember a day by day thing. how many days after the first day will the pain last? does it get any worse than the first day? does it become easier to eat/brush your teeth? can someone, preferably a dentist or dental assistant or such, please tell me. thanks

This morning I woke up and the back on my teeth hurt pretty bad but i had my braces for like 3-4 weeks now so im used to them. And they weren’t sore 2 days ago. Could i have been grinding my teeth in my sleep?
I didn’t get my teeth tightened yet, i get them tightened in September.

How can I get rid of bad breath?

Hi, i suffer from bad breath, i am not sure if it is connected to a lack of sleep, i barely get any, or quite what. I have found that after eating weetabix, of which i have 6 a day, my breath goes bad and i only shortly after brush my teeth. I use toothpaste and moutwash but It simply won’t go away. Any help would be appreciated and could you anwer whether or not bad breath and being sleep-deprived is linked?

We had a fairly casual oral hygeine routine for my 22-month old until recently we noticed bad breath and more plaque buildup (we assumed it was due to changing diet). After beginning a more aggressive brushing routine, we noticed the top half of his upper front teeth have moderate decay. (The rest of his teeth are spotless :( ) Our dental insurance kicks in in two weeks, and I have two questions: given that we are now taking scrupulous care of his teeth, will it advance quickly enough that we should run him to a dentist RIGHT NOW and deal with the debt, or will it hold steady? And two, can I cause more damage to his teeth through incautious cleaning until they are repaired? Please, I’m begging anyone with dental training to help me.
We don’t smoke. He doesn’t drink soda and eat candy, or sleep with a bottle of chocolate milk. We just did a bad job cleaning that area, and a worse job checking on it. It got dirty, stayed dirty, and rotted.
I also forgot to mention that he does not seem to be in pain, or we would not consider waiting so long…

what should be done if the wisdom teeth is causing alot of pain, like can’t sleep because of the pain…?

Hello all, here is my question. Any opinion would help….

I have been in SEVERE pain from my wisdom teeth coming in for about 3 days now. It started out just being a little "swore", but has developed into pure out annoyance and pain.

My dentist prescribed me amoxicillin incase of developing infection until I can see my oral surgeon.

I have great respect for my dentist, as he does for me (i hope so anyways haha), and am very afraid to ask for a pain killer to help me sleep at night (without feeling like a crack head)… until I can see my oral surgeon. I work 7 days a week and cant afford to lose sleep over mouth pain. If i seriously am IN pain, I should ask for something like this right? I have tried all OTC medications, all they do is keep some swelling down. I need 4 HOURS OF SOME RELIEF!

Also, when I try to eat I chew on my swollen cheek.

Yes, we have cavities and problem with our teeth because of the current economical situation. But why is it that our teeth only hurt at night moreso than during the day? We sleep near a window. Is there anyway we can prevent pain in our teeth until we can see a dentist?

When I wake up in the morning, I always seem to have a really bad taste in my mouth. I think it’s because I sleep with my mouth open. How can I force my mouth to stay closed? or How can I stop the bad taste/breath?

I brush my teeth morning and night. I floss at night. I’ve tried listerine and it seems to help alittle but not enough.

TOOTH IMPLANTS?????????

Hello, on of my teeth in the back was loose and it was bothering me so i pulled it out. it was a full grown tooth. i want to get it replaced by my dentist. i would like to know the begining process. (how they put you to sleep, as in a shot/ IV/ laughing gas/ etc) thanks :D
one* haha sorry for the mispelled.

My wisdom teeth are causing me a great deal of pain on one side of my mouth. I have already spoken to a dentist, but I need a referral first. I have the exam/referral scheduled for Tuesday, and then who knows how long til they are actually pulled. One of them has a cavity because it was covered by gum for so long and I couldn’t get to the tooth to brush it. The other one on that side is coming in and is causing pain. Orajel only dulls the pain for maybe 10 minutes and 2 tablets of extra strength Tylenol only helps for about an hour. What can I do? It keeps me up at night. I finally get to sleep, but when my 10 month old wakes up, after he is taken care of, it takes me a long time to get back to sleep again because of the pain. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Why do you get bad breath when you sleep?

Compared to when your awake your breath doesn’t get that bad as the so called "morning breath". What keeps your mouth from not smelling as horrible when your awake as to your breath when you sleep?
Germs using the bathroom? Thats gross but interesting.

and it runs along into the front section of my neck. Also I feel like my teeth don’t fit correctly so if i try to hold my teeth together normally it begins hurting. Also its hard to go to sleep at night because of the jaw pain and the neck pain and I’m thinking that I might have TMJ could anyone tell me what the problem could be?

I thought after getting my wisdom teeth out the pain would go away but thats not the case.

I think I might have sensitive teeth but I’m only fifteen and have read that sensitive teeth are usually only for older teeth. Does it mean my teeth is rotting?
Would it perhaps been due to when I was younger I used to use a colgate whitening brush kit and left it on to sleep? This was roughly when I was ten years old. Also are thinner teeth more likely to be sensitive? Thank you so much to all who have answered!

It’s been 6 days almost a week since I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed… I’m 14 and I can’t tolerate pain very well. I’ve been taking painkillers but they aren’t helping. The pain is excruciating, probably the worst pain I’ve experienced. I’ve been gargling salt water and cleaning out my mouth after every meal and before I go to bed. Is there anything to do to reduce the pain? I can’t even sleep :(

my wisdom teeth are coming in and the pain is unbearable. they have kept me from eating and have even kept me from getting a good nights sleep for about a week now! I have a dentist appt on December 7th but i need something (anything!) to hold me over until then. please help! and thanks in advance :)

Okay, so everyone knows that morning breath is normal but how about when you get very little to no sleep? Sometimes when I stay up 18+ hours, I can tell I have bad breath. Or if I stay up for a long time, then only get 1 hour of sleep before I have to get up for work/school. All day long I’ll have bad breath. It seems the only way to get rid of it is to get the full 6-8 hours of rest. Is that normal?

I recently broke my c2, its healed and im in a neck collar until my neck strengthens enough to hold my head. Recently i have been waking up with major tooth pains. I think i may b grinding my teeth in my sleep, ut not sure. Is this normal with wear of a neck collar? Any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Personal and medical experience greatly appreciated
