Something wrong with my teeth?

I have something wrong with one of my teeth. I have a small gap in my enamel at the top of one of my upper back teeth, At first I thought it was just the receding gumline, but after poking at it with my tongue for a while its become sensitive to touch and brushing. It is not brown (as far as I can tell),so I’m not sure if its a cavity. and exposed nerve tissue, or root rot. Does anyone have any idea what this may be? And if there’s anything I can do? I can currently brushing with sensodine pronamel and chewing trident gum.

pale teeth at the gumline?

my 2 front upper teeth are a paleish white color near the gumline. it looks like plaque but its not. there is nothing on my teeth at all. besides the strange coloring. i dont know if its a receding gumline or what.
and i dont have dental insurance so i cant make regular check ups. i was wondering if this is something i should o see the dentist about.

What would be the average cost for a check-up jus to make sure I DON’t have cavities. I think I might possibly have a receding gumline that is causing my sensitivity pain because I’m 21 and I’ve noticed they’ve receded some, but I want to be sure it’s not more serious!

I went to the dentist for this one tooth–he said it was fine but had a receding gumline–I’ve been using sensitive toothpaste like he said–altho I used it before that for about 3 years–it’s alittle better but still can’t have anything touch it or chew on it? Has anyone ever had this and know if it ever goes away? It doesn’t ache if I leave it alone lol! Thx!

question on receding gums?

becasue I have teeth that I found hard to brush enough, I applied too much force and used a firm toothbrush, contrary to what is recommended by most dentsists (medium or soft). I have learnt my lesson and I now brush my teeth as it is specified by my dentist. My gumline has receded. I have had nightmares about my teeth falling out, the enamel (especially on the teeth that I brushed too hard has worn away partly). I am dealing with thickening the enamel with some specialised products.

My receding gumline makes it even harder for me to brush my teeth without damaging the gum further. I find that my teeth also hurt a ot more where the gum has receded the most. My teeth look extrememly long because they protrude further out of the gum than they ought to.

MY QUESTION IS THIS: Is there a product or method of some sort I can use to help my gumline come back to its normal position? Please help.
Just to clear something up, my gums didn’t recede due to my not caring for my oral hygiene, it was because I used firm toothbrushes and brushed my teeth much harder than recommended and this pushed back my gums.
I’m actually really offended that people thought I had bad oral hygiene-as I stated, I rather overdid my oral cleansing regime

What is a nerve test for a sensitive tooth?

My dentist might want to do this for a sensitive tooth I have but he can’t see anything wrong with it. I have a receding gumline–but I have others and they hurt different than this. It’s very sensitive to hot and cold–not sweets– but quickly leaves after. I do grind my teeth–how do they do a nerve test and what does it determine? If I needed a root canal would an x-ray show this? Thx!

What is the best way to help teeth sensitivity?

I was told by my dentist that I have a receding gumline on one of my teeth. He said to use sensodyne toothpaste. I have for a year and it doesn’t help. Other than anbesol (because I’ve tried that too) what kind of treatment is out there?

Gum grafting on receding gumlines?

I’m looking to find more information on gum grafting. My boyfriend’s front bottom teeth have a pretty bad receding gumline, and I’m curious to find out that if gum grafting were necessary, about how much we may be looking to pay for it. It would probably be about 4 to 6 teeth on the bottom, 4 to 6 teeth on top. Any ideas?

How bad is this receding gumline? *pics*?

How bad would you dental pros consider my receding gumline to be? It’s very painful and I really can’t afford to go to a dentist or oral surgeon..

It’s been getting worse and worse.. These really do not do it justice.

I do brust and floss properly.. Twice a day at least. Don’t know why it’s doing this, perhaps all my stomach issues.

You’d probably see a good bit of plaque.. I didn’t brush my teeth immediately before taking those pictures.

receding gumline fill-in??

hey,

i recently asked about a receding gumline i had under a few of my teeth from abrasive brushing.

my dentist covered the exposed area in a chemical to reduce sensitivity but when i expressed some concern that the exposed area might be more susceptible to gum disease or anything like that, he said there would be no need for any sort of fill-in or covering.

sometimes i get foot stuck in the little crescent-shaped crevices, but i usually gargle that out right after i eat. is this potentially very bad?

i know when gumline recession is extreme, a gum gaft is necessary. am i really okay, or should i get a second opinion.

thanks in advance for any answers!

Teeth pain?

I just started using Crest Whitestrips and now the base of my teeth hurt extremely bad. I have had some tooth sensitivity before but nothing like this. The pain is right at the root and constant.
I also have a slight case of receding gumline but I don’t know if that would make a difference or not.
Please help!
