I had my 31 tooth pulled last month and my dentist is pushing me to get a titanium screwed in implant. It is the last tooth on lower jaw. The one on the other side needs to be pulled as well. The implants are expensive. The base is running me about 1200 and the crown will be about the same (my insurance will cover the crown but it maxes out at a 1000).
I am wondering if I even need it. I am eating just fine without it. I have been reading that a full lower teeth replacement only includes 24 teeth which is what I would have left after the two bottom are pulled.
He showed me this video he has where it shows the remaining teeth you have falling out like dominos if you don’t get this. Does this really happen or is this a rare case?
I am seeing the specialist for a consult today, but I am sure he will say the same thing. Sometimes, I think some dentist are more salesman that dentist (atleast that is how I feel about mine).

so i have cleft lip and palate.
& i have to get 2 implants on not my front 2 top teeth, but the ones next to them.
i have 2 questions about that.
1) do you think i will be asleep like they do for surgeries?
or will they just use novicane?
2) how bad does it hurt afterwards?
im aware that it will hurt alot because of the fact they drilled into my bone. but will it be unbearable, excruciating pain? or will it be an aching pain when it hurts really bad to eat, like after getting braces tightened?
this is my 8th year having braces(im only 14), and i have experienced alot of dental pain with them.
thnks!

i had a accident, resulting in the loss of my upper teeth;excluding the two center teeth.can i have one implant inserted next to each of my 2 good middle teeth, than another implant further back 4-5 positions, and have a bridgework made to fill the gap? or must i have individual implants for each tooth position… that is toothless ? i am 53 with healthy bone, etc. thank you !

I am missing too many teeth on the lower side ( 2 molars on the left , 2 molars+one premolar on the right ) can’t afford to put 5 implants , I was wondering if I put one implant on each side and then make a bridge with the implant and my good teeth , would it be an option ? And would it be cheaper than an implant? How much is a bridge ?

I have the biggest ugliest gap right in between my front two teeth! I just had an oral surgery yesterday and I thought my dentist would be able to fix it then but he wants to put braces on my teeth first and then surgically remove them so my implants will fit correctly. So my question is will braces hurt more if I have a big gap or is it pretty much the same feeling? And do you like your braces or not? And how long did it take for you to adjust to them?

Do they happen to include headaches, pains near the frontal lobe, sore eyes, cronic headaches, chills?
This is a titanium tooth implant with some zirconium.
Also just to clarify these symptoms appeared the same day after my implants were done and the anesthetics wore off

In my early twenties, I got two teeth at the front of my mouth pulled. Since then, the gum has healed. I’m wondering if it is too late to get implants to replace my missing teeth. Any thoughts?

I have a missing tooth. Someday I’d like to fix that problem. I could either wear braces on the bottom section of my teeth to straighten them and then have a bridge put in, or I could have two lower molars replaced with an implant. My big fear with implants is that they will hurt like #### because they go into the bone. Do they?
Hey V.S., please write back here and let me know how it goes.

I’m wondering how much does it cost to get implants done per tooth through a regular dentist office. And is it worth it and how is it done. And would it be better to get partials put in instead?
Just woundering how much a implant is per tooth sister-in-law is getting it done and I think she told me wrong what it will total. Or she got Quoated wrong from the dentist.

In the worst case scenario of both dentures and implants failing and being unable to chew due to tooth loss, what kind of foods could you eat to get enough calories to maintain your weight? Can pretty much any food be grinded down in a blender? Are blenders strong enough to grind down meats, fruits and veggies?

I’ve had my tooth extracted in august of 2006 and I am still trying to scavenge for money before I get my implants. I understand that the roots start to shift if there’s a missing tooth. How much longer can I wait before that starts to happen? Thanks!

The existing implants broke in pieces and new ones will be required. How can replacements be done quickley and inexpensively. This is an emergency.

I have a baby tooth which is infected and it needs to be extracted. I want to get implants after that. but the thing is the implants are not covered by my insurance as they will replace a baby tooth. So i will have to get the implants in India. I am going to India in Jan-Feb time frame. So can i get the tooth extracted in India itself and get the implants there right away. I will be in India for 2 months. So do you think i should get the tooth extracted here as it will need more than 2 month to heal and go get the implants later in India? FYI I am 28 and i wont be growing/dont have a permanent tooth to replace the baby tooth
FYI I AM 28 AND I WONT BE GROWING/DONT HAVE A PERMANENT TOOTH TO REPLACE THE BABY TOOTH

What is the proper procedure for Implants in terms of tooth extraction and implant placement? I have been told the tooth should be extracted and then wait several weeks to get the implant. I have also been told both can be done at the same time. What is the proper procedure?
