Is it illegal to ask the dentist to "whiten" your teeth?
Is it illegal to ask the dentist to "whiten" your teeth?
my two front teeth are yellow and my bottom teeth has alot of plague along the gumline and my gums are receding as if i have gum disease..
i’m not sure….i went to my local doctor and she even told me to go to the dentist…kinda hurt my feelings..but i knew it ..its the truth…but What can a dentist do for me…other than a simple cleaning…how much is whitening ?
Dentist put in 4 resin fillings, 3 are fine, pain went away a few hours later, very minor, but one son of a you know what STILL hurts 5 days later, a constant throbing pain, not excruciating but annoying.
I am overdue for a dental check-up and professional clean and I am embarrassed about the ghastly dark stains on my teeth from all the tea and coffee I drink. Dentists are who I normally go to for a check-up but because the stains are so bad I need whitening so people don’t cringe when I smile. Not sure whether to go to a tooth whitener or dentist. They say the teeth whitener people are professional hygenists and also clean teeth.
Okay so i went to the dentist and they found my first cavity on my front teeth, and they drilled it really thin. So now every time I drink anything, it it touches them it hurts extremely bad! This has been going on since late march and I’m sick of it. Iv used act and it doesn’t really do anything and i use sensitive toothpaste every day. I’m not sure what else to do. Can i get some ideas?
i was nummed not put to sleep when they were pulled yesterday am. my face is swollen and everything is sore and i have a headache. doc gave me antibiotic and tylenol3 but i havent been able to sleep @ all due to nausea. dentist told me to call the pharmacy, pharmacist was a jerk and didn’t answer any of my questions just said to take the tylenol3. all i want to do is sleep could i just take a unisom?
i had both of my molars removed and im planning on getting implants (teeth implants) in a month
My dentist gave me a long list of instructions on what to do and what not to do but hes not very specific "eat soft foods and plenty of liquids are advisable"
i plan on having a crepe
i cant just call my dentist and say "can i eat a crepe" that would be rude seeing as hes always packed and busy.
would it be a good idea?
She has tried pain killers and Anbesol, but non work, we don’t have the money right now to bring her to the dentist to have it checked out, but we are trying to save quickly. The pain comes off and on does anyone have a temporary solution until we can get to a dentist?
My gumline had receded a noticeable level and the teeth now looks longer. What can I do to restore my gumline back to where it was?
Also I hadn’t been to the dentist in 5 years (mostly because I don”t have dental insurance) and finally went last week to a dental school to get x-rays and cleaning done by a supervised student. They looked at the x-ray films and told me I have periodontal (gum) disease. My premolar and molar pockets measured between 4mm-5mm with one 6mm and one 8mm pocket around the first molar on top left. They treated it with a scaling and rooting planning treatment(deep cleaning). Now my entire mouth feels much healthier. My gums don’t bleed anymore and my mouth even taste better. I was told that if I did my homework (daily efficient brushing and flossing) and had regular dental checkups then the disease can be arrested and my gums will heal and attach again making the pockets smaller. Their bigger concern was the 8mm pocket which they are referring me to a specialist for. I made an appointment with one the next day but the appointment isn’t for another 4 weeks. Do you think the specialist list can do anything for my disease? I would like to keep all my teeth. I have promised myself I will brush and floss daily along with using mouthwash and have regular visits with my dentist from now on.
My 5 year old son has sensitive teeth. Eating cold things such as ice cream really seems to bother his teeth. He has healthy, clean, white teeth that are brushed everyday with no other problems except for this sensitivity to cold things. All toothpaste for sensitive teeth are not suggested for children under 12. I am getting him to a dentist next month but was wondering if there is anything he can use until then. Is there a toothpaste for sensitive teeth that is safe for children?
I can feel a couple of my bottom front teeth slightly loose (can barely tell unless im really looking) with some gum seperation…i can not afford a dentist for another 6 months..i have been using listerine and the new crest toothpaste along with flossing and electric toothbrush…will my gums get better on their own? is there more i can do besides this?? im not in any pain..just concerned…never even had a cavity!!
sorry…my gums do not hurt, i can feel them and no..they do not bleed..
I cant afford the expensive procedure for my teeth at the dentist so Im looking for alternatives. Teeth whitening toothpastes havent helped so I want to try one of the products from the store to save a little money. Which ones are the best (even if they are on the more expensive side)? Im sick of my teeth being so dark and ugly.
Its from one of my wisdom teeth. When the tooth came in the sides poked through the gum and the gum stayed intact across the top, imagine i a gum bridge across the crown i guess. Then when the tooth came in more the back end of the gum detatched. And now I’m left with a strip of gum tissue thats not dying or receding back into the gumline. It drives me nuts I play with it all the time, and it doesn’t feel any pain. I try to bend it back and squish it down but its shrinking very slowly. Its been there for 3 years. I want it gone!!! Maybe I could do something like tie a string around it?
I don’t plan on doing anything thats going to harm me at home. I can’t go to the dentist now but It doesn’t bother me so much that I can’t wait untill I get some dental benefits. Just curious if i could do it myself.

At eleven thirty this morning I had a check up at the dentist, but after they cleaned my teeth, they became super sensitive. Its been twelve hours and my teeth are still hurting more than ever.. So what can I do?
Help!
I had my 31 tooth pulled last month and my dentist is pushing me to get a titanium screwed in implant. It is the last tooth on lower jaw. The one on the other side needs to be pulled as well. The implants are expensive. The base is running me about 1200 and the crown will be about the same (my insurance will cover the crown but it maxes out at a 1000).
I am wondering if I even need it. I am eating just fine without it. I have been reading that a full lower teeth replacement only includes 24 teeth which is what I would have left after the two bottom are pulled.
He showed me this video he has where it shows the remaining teeth you have falling out like dominos if you don’t get this. Does this really happen or is this a rare case?
I am seeing the specialist for a consult today, but I am sure he will say the same thing. Sometimes, I think some dentist are more salesman that dentist (atleast that is how I feel about mine).
I am normally good with pain but this is pretty awful. The dentist can’t find anything as its not in an exact tooth. She has given me Corsodyl which after I use hurts SOOOO bad I end up crying. Would you carry on using it if its causing that much pain? It says on the bottle it will sting at first but the pain really is something else.
I’ve recently become plagued with terrible bad breath. I have a simple plastic tongue scraper, and it doesn’t seem to be orking well. My breath is really rank, and it’s very annoying. What else can I try, other than going to a dentist?
My dad has had gum disease for 5 years now. He is from Vietnam and you know, naturally doesn’t have great teeth like Americans do, and does not go to the dentist anymore. I am very worried and curious as to when this will affect the heart. Please help ![]()
It’s been 5 months since I got my implant placed for my front tooth, and in 1 more month my dentist will put the healing abutment on top of it. Now, how much longer will I have to wait afterwards until I can get my crown and be done with this?? (This whole thing has taken years because i had to do another bone graft when the first one failed. ugh)
I have a small swollen point in my gum. It’s on my lower jaw, where my wisdom tooth use to be (they were removed 2 years ago). It’s painful and I think it’s a gum infection. What are the symptoms of a gum infection? What are the treatments? How can I have healthier teeth? I brush and floss and use floride rinse but I still always have problems with cavaties and i’m afraid of dentists. I have made an appointment with a dentist for my gum pain but i’m just wondering what the problem is and what he’ll most likely do for it. Thanks!
I was in a car accident and lost my front side tooth and damaged other teeth (I had the braces wire on). I have been undergoing surgery after surgery to reconstruct all the damage to my mouth. Currently my dentist explained that his best plan of action is for me to get dentures. I’m only 24! I cry everytime I think of dentures. Is there any other alternative?
I have red swollen gums bu they don’t bleed at all even when brushing or flossing.
I hate the dentist so please dont say this.
I need a tooth implant for one of my front teeth, and my dentist told me it would cost k total (implant, crown and care). This sounds absurd to me. Anyone know of what the total cost is for a single implant, in general (total cost, meaning implant, crown and care)? I feel like I am getting ripped off, and my insurance will not cover any of it.
My bf is in major pain, and I believe that it is due to wisdom teeth! I have had all four of mine pulled at once and it is not fun! If anyone knows of anything that would help ease him of his pain until he can get in to see the dentist on Monday, I would really appreiate it! Thanks…
