I have a small swollen point in my gum. It’s on my lower jaw, where my wisdom tooth use to be (they were removed 2 years ago). It’s painful and I think it’s a gum infection. What are the symptoms of a gum infection? What are the treatments? How can I have healthier teeth? I brush and floss and use floride rinse but I still always have problems with cavaties and i’m afraid of dentists. I have made an appointment with a dentist for my gum pain but i’m just wondering what the problem is and what he’ll most likely do for it. Thanks!

My beloved Dad has severe bad breath that has affected his social life and his wonderful friendliness. Getting him to drink more water and obtain better oral hygiene is like pulling teeth. No pun intended. :~D He has a Dentist’s appointment in a few weeks, however, I was wondering what he could do in the meantime. Thank you so much and you rock!

The last time I went to the dentist they said that if I didn’t start brushing really good that I could develop gum disease. Tomorrow is my next appointment and unfortunately I haven’t done that good of a job. For the past week or so I’ve been brushing my gums really good but they hurt a lot. Do I have to worry a bunch about it? Can it be reversed if I brush a lot more? What will they most likely do?

I’ve been getting pains in all my back teeth for a week now, it usually comes and goes, but since monday the pain has become worse and unbearable and I cannot eat without breaking into tears! Someone please tell me what’s going on.
I just called up a dentist and the earliest appointment I can get is for this Saturday, is that took long to wait or what?

Right away he wanted to set me up for an appointment and meet with somoene in finance-I’m skeptical-he said I have no cavaties but have advanced gum disease-can he make a diagnosis in 30 seconds?

I recently had root canal therapy and a temporary crown placed. The gum around the tooth is now puffy and receded to the point that portions of my jaw bone can be seen. Should I make an appointment for reevaluation? What could be causing this?

I am having one wisdom tooth pulled sometime in the next couple of weeks. It is an upper tooth. (I am 35 years old.)The tooth is not impacted. It is broken and has decay. I will be awake during the procedure, with just novocaine to numb the area. The oral surgeon and his assistant said I will not feel pain but I will feel up to about 20 pounds of pressure. This sounds extremely scary to me. Also, he gave me a prescription for Halcion, which he wants me to take before the extraction. I am also nervous about that, as I am very senstitive to medication, but he said all it will do is relax me and that it will also relax my jaw which will make it easier and faster for him to extract the tooth. I want it to be as easy and fast as possible so I am planning on taking the Halcion before my appointment. Has anyone had any experience? I am curious about reactions to Halcion and what to expect to feel when I take it, and about the pain and/or pressure I may feel during the extraction. Thanks!

2 – 3 months ago, I went to a dentist that actually knew what they were doing. They told me that I may have gum disease because of my bleeding gums. They said they were going to treat it one appointment after my fillings, but I never went back.
The reason is that my insurance can’t cover the dental visit.
Also, I have 2 wisdom teeth growing in and I’m afraid that it will only add to my gum problem.
I feel like I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do.

I been having fevers and extreme pain when I eat. What can I do about this pain in my mouth until I get my wisdom teeth pulled? I am making my appointment tomorrow morning but until I get it down, what should I do?
