Its from one of my wisdom teeth. When the tooth came in the sides poked through the gum and the gum stayed intact across the top, imagine i a gum bridge across the crown i guess. Then when the tooth came in more the back end of the gum detatched. And now I’m left with a strip of gum tissue thats not dying or receding back into the gumline. It drives me nuts I play with it all the time, and it doesn’t feel any pain. I try to bend it back and squish it down but its shrinking very slowly. Its been there for 3 years. I want it gone!!! Maybe I could do something like tie a string around it?
I don’t plan on doing anything thats going to harm me at home. I can’t go to the dentist now but It doesn’t bother me so much that I can’t wait untill I get some dental benefits. Just curious if i could do it myself.

I brush my teeth on a daily basis. I’ve been going out with guy three times. We’ve been friends for a long time and recently admits that he likes me. I like him too. It’s been 3 years since my divorce and now going into a new relationship. I’m worried. What if I kiss bad? What if I have bad breath? I feel nervous. It’s been a long time. Are there any remedies to avoid bad breath?

I will be getting braces off soon and have had them on for a solid 3 years. I really need a very effective teeth whitening product, over the counter. Any ideas? Thanks!

my daughter is 3 years old.her tooth decay statted many weeks ago. now her one front tooth is copletely decayed. and now the second one is hurting. should any pain killer or antibiotic should be given for the infection as she is also having fever.

Will my receding gums heal on their own?

I used to chew tobacco, I used it for about 3 years, and I just recently quit. I’m still fairly young I’m only 19 years old. My bottom front gums have receded a small amount because of this. I am curious if they will tighten back up and heal on their own. And by on their own I do mean with proper dental care, and 6 month check ups.

I went to the dentist for this one tooth–he said it was fine but had a receding gumline–I’ve been using sensitive toothpaste like he said–altho I used it before that for about 3 years–it’s alittle better but still can’t have anything touch it or chew on it? Has anyone ever had this and know if it ever goes away? It doesn’t ache if I leave it alone lol! Thx!

Nervous about tooth implants…help!?

I’m 17 years old and am getting 2 tooth implants a week from today…any advice? How bad do they hurt? Really…cause I’m scared to death (sounds pathetic, I know)…only other dental procedures I’ve had done are getting 6 baby teeth pulled and then getting my gums cut open to place 2 brackets on teeth to pull them down…I had braces for 3 years…and that’s about it. No cavities. No nothing.

Any advice from those who have had implants? How bad does the actual procedure hurt?

Tooth decay?

Is it true that when your 2 gum teeth did decay, the rest of your teeth will fall out in the next 1-3 years?

What would cause a dog to have bad breath?

I have a chihuahua dog. He is 3 years old, and I have had him for one month. He has some serious bad breath. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I did not have dental insurance for the past 3 years, and missed dental visits. Prior to that, dentists had assured me that I had teeth in fairly decent health.

I have insurance now and I visited a dentist recently. They seemed to jump on my case the moment I said I’d missed appointments for 3 years. The staff took x-ray records at first and when the doctor walked in, the first thing he said without even looking into my mouth was that I have gum disease, and referred me to a periodontist. I was trying to understand what he was trying to say but before I understood anything, the doctor walked out of the room.

Today, I went to the periodontist who spent 10 mins looking at my teeth measuring gaps, and said that I will need to knock off two wisdom teeth and go through gum surgery. I was more aggressive in asking pointed questions and he at least answered them. He says my gums have moderate level of infection and will need to be opened up for cleaning and then stitched back.
He also prescribed a thorough dental clean-up process, which will cost me 0(my copay). The extractions and surgery are likely to run into a few thousands, not to mention the pain.
While the dentists may be right, I somehow felt that they are more focussed on business development for themselves than actually attending to my needs. E.g. my wisdom teeth are perfectly fine and healthy, and have never given me any trouble. When I asked why the extraction was needed, I was told that the teeth are deep inside & difficult to clean, so I would find it easier to maintain the health of my mouth without them. They were just keen to get me to sign up for the extraction appointment. I had to be my assertive best to say that I needed to think about it.
I’m considering seeing a couple more dentists. While I’m surely concerned about my oral health, I don’t want to be pushed into urgent and immediate procedures, which are painful & costly.
Am I being pushed into unneccessary procedures? Please help.

im 18 and i have the thinnest/most receded hair you’ll ever see an 18 year old have. But the doctors say im fine i’m just balding like everybody else. My teeth are almost entirely displayed in my mouth with the roots nearing exposure due to gumline recession, yet the dentists say i keep remarkably good care of my teeth. Lastly i went from not wearing glasses at 15 to having some really strong perscription eyeglasses/contacts in just 3 years, i cant see the title of a text book 3 feet from my face without glasses on.

I’m starting to have a hard time thinking none of this is connected. i had a general blood test done recently that held no results.

anyone have any idea if there is a source problem to all these issues or am i just a coincidentally messed up cat?
oh yah and my scalp is extremely dry and scaly/flaky all the time.
